# Emirates ID status check: how to track your card online

You can check your Emirates ID status online with the ID Card Status service of the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP). Enter your application number, or your Emirates ID number if you are renewing or replacing a card. The tracker shows how far your new, renewed or replacement card has progressed.

ICP says a standard renewal takes about 5 days, and the card is then delivered by an authorised courier. ICP also sends SMS updates to the mobile number on your application.

## Before you start: the numbers you need

You need **one** of these:

- **Application number (PRAN).** This is on the receipt or SMS you got when the application was submitted, whether at a typing centre, in the ICP app or on the website.
- **Emirates ID number.** This works for renewal and replacement applications only. It is the 15-digit number starting with 784 on your current card.

For a first-time card you must use the application number, because you do not have an Emirates ID number yet.

## How to check your Emirates ID status on the ICP website

1. Go to ICP's [ID Card Status service](https://icp.gov.ae/en/services/priority-services/id-card-status/).
2. Choose whether you are searching by **application number** or **Emirates ID number**.
3. Enter the number exactly as it appears on your receipt or card.
4. Submit to see the current stage of your application.

If you applied through your employer or a typing centre, ask them for the application number. They receive it the moment the application is submitted.

## How to track your Emirates ID with your passport number

The ID Card Status tracker itself uses the application number or Emirates ID number, not the passport number. If you only have your passport, you can at least confirm that your residency is active through ICP's File Validity service: choose **Passport Information** and **Residency**, then search. For the card itself, get the application number from whoever submitted the application, or call ICP.

## What each Emirates ID status means

Exact wording can vary between channels, but applications move through these stages:

A long pause at "under review" usually means a document or data issue. Call ICP on 600 522222 before resubmitting anything.

## How long does it take to get an Emirates ID?

ICP lists **5 days** as the standard processing time for a renewal, plus courier delivery. New cards take longer if you still have to give biometrics at a service centre. ICP's urgent service lets you collect from a service centre instead of waiting for the courier.

## Can I use a digital Emirates ID while I wait?

Once your card is issued, a digital version is available in the UAE PASS and ICP apps, and many services accept it. While the application is still processing, keep your receipt and the SMS with your application number. Offices sometimes ask for proof that a renewal is under way.
